Community Rules & Etiquette and Privacy Guidelines

Thank you for being part of our community. To ensure the best possible experience for all members, we have established some basic guidelines for participation.

By joining and using this community, you agree that you have read and will follow these rules and guidelines. You also agree to reserve discussions and shared files and content to that best suited to the medium. This is a great medium with which to solicit the advice of your peers, benefit from their experience, and participate in an ongoing conversation. Questions should be directed to our member services department via the Contact Us link on this site.

Please take a moment to acquaint yourself with these important guidelines. If you have questions, contact the member services department. In order to preserve an environment that encourages both civil and fruitful dialogue, we reserve the right to suspend or terminate membership in this community for anyone who violate these rules.

The Rules

  • Respect others. Focus on the content of posts and not on the people making them. Please extend the benefit of the doubt to newer guests and members; there’s no such thing as a stupid question.
  • Respect the purpose of the community. Use the community to share successes, challenges, constructive feedback, questions, and goals instead of products or services that you provide. If you’ve found a product or service helpful, please share your experience with the group in a respectful way.
  • Use caution when discussing products. Information posted on the discussion groups and in the libraries is available for all to see, and comments are subject to libel, slander, and antitrust laws.
  • All defamatory, abusive, profane, threatening, offensive, or illegal materials are strictly prohibited. Do not post anything that you would not want the world to see or that you would not want anyone to know came from you.
  • Respect intellectual property. Post content that you have personally created or have permission to use and have properly attributed to the content creator.
  • When posting items in our collaborative environment, please indicate if the item is not available for reuse. It’s also advisable to contact the owner of any material if you would like to reuse it.
  • Post your message or documents only to the most appropriate communities. This helps ensure all messages receive the best response by eliminating "noise."

Discussion Group Etiquette

  • State concisely and clearly the topic of your comments in the subject line. This allows members to respond more appropriately to your posting and makes it easier for members to search the archives by subject.
  • Send messages such as "thanks for the information" or "me, too" to individuals, not to the entire list. Do this by using the "Reply to Sender" link in every message.
  • Do not send administrative messages, such as “remove me from the list,” to the group. Instead, use the web interface to change your settings or to remove yourself from a list. If you are changing email addresses, you do not need to remove yourself from the list and rejoin under your new email address. Simply change your settings.

2. SUBSCRIPTION CONDITIONS

2.1. Subscription and Automatic Renewal. Subscription to the IADS Platform shall be for a term equal to the period specified in the billing statement and shall automatically renew for the same periods unless you send a termination notice pursuant to Section 2.7 below.

2.2. Subscription Cost. The cost of the subscription is as indicated during registration and will be charged by the same payment method chosen by you. The charge will be made at the time of confirmation of the purchase and at the beginning of each new billing period, unless a termination notice is sent in the manner set forth in Section 2.7 below. By accepting these General Terms and Conditions, you authorize IADS to charge the amount due by the chosen means of payment.

2.3. Changing the subscription cost. IADS reserves the right to change the subscription price. In the event of a change in the subscription price, we will give you 30 (thirty) days’ notice by sending an email to the email address linked to your account. The change will be effective at the end of the current billing period. If you do not wish to accept such variation, you may terminate your subscription to the Platform by sending a notice pursuant to Section 2.7 below. Your failure to terminate the subscription after 30 (thirty) days from the receipt of the relevant notice and, therefore, the continued use of the Platform after this period has elapsed, shall count as your acceptance of the price as changed and the subscription will be renewed on the basis of the price in effect at the time of renewal, without you having to perform any further activity.

2.4. Responsibility for Payments. You are responsible for payment of all amounts, including any fees, due to third parties for the Internet access necessary for the use of the IADS Platform. To this end, you are encouraged to check with your Internet service provider for any Internet use fees.

2.5. Payment Data. We collect and store your payment information, such as your credit card number and expiration date. Please read our Privacy Policy for more information on how we process your data. You are responsible for keeping your payment information up-to-date by editing it through your account settings. If a payment is not successfully authorized due to the expiration of the credit card used, insufficient funds, or other reasons, IADS reserves the right to suspend the account or terminate the subscription by giving notice to you by e-mail to the address provided during registration or associated with the account. You further understand that if you decide to reactivate your subscription to the Platform, IADS may charge the relevant fee by the same user’s means of payment resulting from our records.

2.6. Free Trial. Subscription to the Platform may in some cases begin with a free trial. The availability of a free trial is not guaranteed and, if available, is only for users who have not previously used the IADS Platform. The first payment will be charged at the end of the free trial, by the means of payment chosen by the user during registration, unless terminated in the manner set forth in the following Section.

You may unsubscribe at any time before the end of the free trial period by accessing your personal area within www.iADS.org  and following the relevant instructions. The duration of the free trial is communicated at the time of registration and no specific communication will be sent when the free trial is about to end or when the paid subscription begins. In the event of termination (for whatever reason) of a previous account and subsequent creation of a new account associated with the same e-mail address or payment method, you will not be eligible for the free trial. To this end and in order to enable us to verify your eligibility for the free trial, IADS may use information such as your username, payment method, or an e-mail address used with a pre-existing subscription.

2.7. Cancellation. You may unsubscribe at any time prior to the end of the current billing period or free trial by accessing your personal area within www.iADS.org  and following the relevant instructions. The cancellation will become effective at the end of the current billing period or free trial. Once the subscription is cancelled, your account will be closed automatically at the end of the current billing period or trial period. In the event of termination, you acknowledge and agree that payments are non-refundable; therefore, IADS does not grant refunds or credits for partially used subscription periods or IADS Content not used by you.

2.8. Withdrawal. In the event that you are a consumer, at the time you subscribe to the Platform, you will be entitled to withdraw from the contract within fourteen 14 (fourteen) days from the acceptance of these General Terms and Conditions by sending a notice by email to admin@theiads.org  You will be reimbursed in full for the cost of the subscription paid. In order to comply with the withdrawal period, it is sufficient for the user to send the notice regarding the exercise of the right of withdrawal before the expiration of the relevant period. In all other cases, you expressly acknowledge that the contract will be completed immediately upon access to the Platform and accept that, by using the services, you lose the right of withdrawal.

2.9. Subscription agreements signed through third-party business partners. IADS may offer different types of subscriptions, including through third party business partners of ours. Some types of subscriptions may have different conditions or limitations that will be disclosed to you prior to your subscription to the Platform.

If you subscribe through third parties or our business partners, such subscription is also subject to the terms and conditions of such third party. If the purchase, billing, cancellation, refund, or withdrawal provisions of these General Terms and Conditions conflict with those of the third party, the third party’s terms and conditions shall prevail over the inconsistent provisions of these General Terms and Conditions. For subscription agreements signed through a third party, the payment and billing relationship will be established directly between you and the third party. Any amount charged for the subscription to the IADS Platform will be billed by the third party by using the payment information provided by you to the third party. To cancel or withdraw from a Platform subscription agreement signed through a third party, please follow the instructions provided by that third party within its terms and conditions. You can visit our Customer Service Center for instructions on how to cancel or withdraw from a IADS Platform subscription agreement signed through a third party.

IADS may also offer a subscription to the Platform in conjunction with other services, including subscriptions to products and services offered by third parties. Subscriptions, products, and services offered by third parties are governed solely by the terms of use of those third parties.
